You can not heal if you pretend that you aren’t hurt. Trauma can destroy you if you allow it to. It can mislead you to respond out of anger, hurt and disappointment. It can cause you to assume the worst in almost every situation. It can suck the life out of you and consume your mind with the most toxic thoughts. Your energy will shift a room in the most negative way and you will wonder why your family and friends are all trying to stay away from you. If you keep your focus there, you will suffer. If you make the choice to shift your focus, you will heal and grow. Here’s the catch healing can be gut-wrenching painful because you will have to confront you and sometime those who have caused the hurt that you feel. But contrary to that, healing is the most beautiful and awake thing you can do for yourself. The freedom and peace that comes with healing is the most amazing mind massage that you’ll ever receive; never-ending abundance. Walking in love and light releases you from bondage. It lighten your spirit and the glow up is unmatched. Your thoughts shift. You attitude shift. You no longer look to man to confirm anything for you, but you look to God to reassure you that what He said will always be true. You are constantly reminded that God’s grace and love never wavers and even when we don’t show up for ourselves, He still shows up on our behalf. Isn’t God the greatest and most gracious?!
And let’s not compare our healing to those around us. The process will differ from one person to the other. Day by day. Hour by hour. Minute by minute. A moment at a time. You will have to be intentional to focus on God’s love and his grace. You will have to sit still, in silence and pray. Pray for courage to face your past so God can transform your future.
Say this prayer with me...
God in our worry, you are our stillness. Come into our hearts and guide us to wholeness. Help us to heal everything that has broken us. Shower us with your love. Help us to extend grace and mercy to those that have hurt us just as you have extended this to us. Do not let bitterness hold us back from all you have in store for us. Lord, we are hurt but we will not be held back. Soften our hearts. In your word you said, “For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light” (Micah 7:8). We are trusting and leaning on your word. In Jesus name, Amen!💜
